Finst (legal entity Finst B.V.) is a Dutch cryptocurrency platform based in Amsterdam. Company materials describe a 2023 public launch (some schema metadata on the corporate site also show a 2022 founding date) and authorisation as a crypto-asset service provider by the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). It remains a live venue. This page is separate from the historical Anycoin Direct brokerage that later migrated customers toward Finst.

History

Finst's corporate blog describes the firm as offering trading, custody, fiat on/off-ramp, and related crypto services for retail and institutional clients, led by former DEGIRO team members.[1]

On 12 November 2024, Finst announced that it had raised further capital (stated €70M valuation in that post) and acquired strategic assets from Anycoin Direct. The announcement said Anycoin Direct customers could migrate accounts to Finst at no cost, and that the free transfer service and the then-current Anycoin Direct platform would remain available "until further notice". Exact calendar end-dates for Anycoin's Dutch wind-down beyond that primary notice are not asserted here. See Anycoin Direct.[2]

Products and operations

Company pages describe EUR-denominated crypto trading, custody, fiat deposits and withdrawals, staking, and related products. Marketing fee and asset-count claims change over time. Current figures should be taken from live Finst disclosures rather than older press copy.[2]

Finst states it was an early Dutch platform to publish an audited Proof of Reserves and that client assets are segregated from company assets.[2][3]

Regulation (MiCA / AFM)

On 24 July 2025, Finst announced it had secured a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) licence from the Dutch AFM, enabling passporting of crypto-asset services across EU/EEA member states under MiCAR.[3]

Finst's public site states that Finst B.V. is authorised by the AFM under number 41000015. That number is a company site statement pending a live AFM crypto register or ESMA interim CASP register check.[4]

Finst's AFM authorisation is distinct from Anycoin Direct's historical registrations described in Finst's acquisition post (NL/AT registration and a German BaFin trading/custody licence claimed for Anycoin in that PR).
