Blockstream Green
Blockstream Green is a bitcoin wallet line from Blockstream, originally launched as GreenAddress and later renamed Blockstream Green. The sister title GreenAddress redirects here. In May 2025 Blockstream announced the Blockstream App as a redesigned mobile-first wallet built on the Green foundation.[1]
History
GreenAddress offered HD wallets (BIP32) with multisignature accounts, browser and mobile clients, BIP39 mnemonics, and optional Liquid Network support. Two-factor policies included email, SMS, voice call, and Google Authenticator cosigning, with 2-of-2 accounts that relied on pre-generated nLockTime recovery transactions and 2-of-3 accounts that used an additional offline recovery key.
Blockstream later operated the product as Blockstream Green. On 29 May 2025 Blockstream published that the new Blockstream App is built on the foundation of Blockstream Green and carries forward advanced Green features such as hardware-wallet support, fee control, and full-node connectivity in a redesigned interface.[1] The consumer page at blockstream.com/green/ redirects to the Blockstream App product page at blockstream.com/app/.[2]

Blockstream describes the App as a non-custodial, open-source, multi-platform wallet for bitcoin and Liquid assets, with hardware-wallet integration (including Blockstream Jade), optional purchase flows through partner integrations, and support for connecting to a user's own node.[1][2]
