Instawallet was an eWallet that treated the wallet URL as the spending credential. No email signup was required. The operator warned that the service aimed only at medium security and that users should not store more than spare change.
History
The site launched on 29 April 2011.[1] On 6 March 2012 the operator of Bitcoin-Central and Paytunia announced that it had acquired and was operating the service.[2]
On 3 April 2013 Instawallet closed after learning that its security had been compromised. Users with balances were directed to a claim form.
