DarkWallet was an experimental, privacy-focused bitcoin client developed by Amir Taaki, Cody Wilson, and others. The software was written in JavaScript and ran as a Google Chrome browser extension.
Features
DarkWallet used the BIP 0032 hierarchical deterministic wallet format and privacy features including Stealth Payments and passive CoinJoin mixing.[1]
Development status
The last published release was DarkWallet Alpha 0.8.0 on 23 January 2015.[2] By 2020 the project appeared abandoned and unmaintained. Later privacy-wallet projects such as JoinMarket, Wasabi Wallet, and Samourai Wallet were more actively maintained alternatives.
