CoinMKT was a United States cryptocurrency exchange founded by Travis Skweres and Ola Ajayi in Santa Monica, California. The coinmkt.com domain was registered on 13 April 2013 and the website launched on 1 May 2013. During its public beta it advertised real-money trading of bitcoin and several altcoins against USD and among supported pairs, HTML5 web access, and cold storage for a large share of deposits.
ANX domain and brand purchase
On 27 January 2015 Hong Kong-based exchange ANX purchased the domain name and brand rights to CoinMKT.com as part of a push into the US market. CoinMKT was to continue under the ANX umbrella using ANX technology, with the founders helping with the transition.[1]
That purchase of domain and brand rights does not by itself document a full transfer of customer liabilities.
Former products
The exchange listed inter-trading among BTC, LTC, PPC, TRC, NVC, NMC, FTC and USD, cryptocurrency deposits without a stated deposit fee, and USD funding and withdrawal options that included wire transfer, money order, Dwolla, ACH/eCheck, and mailed cheque. EUR SEPA rails were listed as forthcoming in its public-beta listings.
