CCEDK (Crypto Coins Exchange Denmark) was a Danish multi-asset cryptocurrency exchange founded by Ronny Boesing and launched publicly on 24 May 2014 under Crypto Coins Exchange Denmark ApS.[1] order-book trading among BTC, LTC, PPC, and NXT against EUR, USD, GBP, DKK, SEK, NOK, CHF, RUB, and UAH, SOFORT and wire deposits, a marketed 1,000 BTC liquidity pool for early matching, a 0.2% trading fee, and a reserve-fund pitch for fraud or cybercrime losses.
History
On 26 May 2014 coverage noted that CCEDK made 1,000 BTC available for trading and appeared in Danish press as an early domestic bitcoin exchange.[2] On 21 June 2014 the exchange advertised instant payment options from more than 1,000 banks in ten EU countries via SOFORT-style rails.[3]
Bitcoin.com reported on 17 May 2016 that Boesing told users the current trading engine would cease operating for good and that when the exchange re-opened on 1 July 2016, CCEDK would serve as a portal for OpenLedger and as an investment knowledge hub for a “Decentralized Conglomerate” that then included OpenLedger, Obits, BitTeaser, and other blockchain projects. Withdrawals were to remain available on request with no hard cut-off stated in that piece. New facilities described in the statement included escrow, crowdfunding, marketing, and issuance of assets, plus ICO packages for businesses.[4]
