Braiins is a bitcoin mining company best known for Braiins OS (alternative miner firmware), Braiins Pool (the pool brand formerly called Slush Pool), and related fleet tools such as Braiins Manager, Toolbox, Proxy and experimental Hashpower / Solo products listed on the company site.[1]
History
According to Braiins' own hashing-history article, Jan Čapek and Pavel Moravec started Braiins in 2011 as an embedded-software company after IT work in banking and embedded systems. They later took majority control of Marek "Slush" Palatinus's mining pool project (around 2013 on that timeline), while Slush went on to SatoshiLabs / Trezor.[1]
Pool branding on that history: the pool began as Bitcoin.cz Mining / Bitcoin Pooled Mining (announced November 2010), was renamed Slush Pool in 2016, and—per the existing Slush Pool wiki article—was renamed Braiins Pool in September 2022 after a 21 July 2022 Braiins announcement. Full pool chronology is on Slush Pool.[1][2]
Products
The hashing-history article describes development of Braiins OS as alternative Antminer firmware, and states that in 2018 Braiins publicly verified overt AsicBoost on Bitmain Antminer S9 hardware and published work connected to BIP 310 (version rolling in stratum).[1] Product navigation on braiins.com also lists Manager, Toolbox, Proxy, Hashpower (beta), Solo and Forge.[1]
