Anoncoin
Anoncoin (ANC) is an altcoin designed with a focus on privacy and anonymity. The project describes it as a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency created in June 2013 with built-in support for both the I2P darknet and the Tor network to help conceal users' IP addresses.[1]
Privacy features
In May 2014, Wired reported that an earlier version of the Zerocoin design was being integrated into Anoncoin.[2] This was a contemporary development report, not evidence that Zerocoin was later deployed. The repository text available in August 2026 still described Zerocoin as forthcoming or in development.[1]
Development status
The latest tagged release on Github is Anoncoin v0.9.7.1-gost, dated 23 October 2018. The latest commit displayed on the repository's main branch is dated 24 December 2020.[1]
