The service first launched (beta) in 2013. Officially it became available in the beginning of 2014.

On June 2, 2015 Cashila publicly announced its integration with the Mycelium Wallet app [1]. The both services got integrated even more in January 2016 with the Mycelium Wallet app update [2].

On May 12, 2016 Cashila announced their new Ethereum platform named ICONOMI, where users can buy, sell and store Ether, the digital token behind Ethereum with a SEPA transfer [3]. That was the pilot project for the ICONOMI's ambitious aim of creating the first fund management platform for the decentralised economy [4].

On August 25, 2016 ICONOMI announced Initial Coin Offering (ICO) [5] aiming to develop the ICONOMI Open Fund Management platform (OFM) and two types of new financial instruments - the ICONOMI Coin Traded Fund (CTF) and the ICONOMI Coin Managed Fund (CMF).
