Pao de Queijo is the Brazilian word for Cheesebread. My Brazilian wife grew up eating cheesebread in her home city of Curitiba. When we met, Barbara had been living in the United States for three months. She was enjoying her stay, but missing Brazilian cuisine. In particular, she missed cheesebread. One day Barbara took me to a Brazilian market in The Mission District of San Francisco. There we purchased frozen cheesebread which we baked that evening. I loved it.
We moved to NH in April of 2011 and married shortly after. It was then I found out Barbara could cook. Barbara has a passion for food. She makes incredibly rich desserts, wonderful soups, and of course home made cheesebread. Barbara dreamed of opening a restaurant, and after experiencing her cooking talent first hand, I was supportive. We discussed opening a coffee shop or a bistro, but nothing totally inspired us until Barbara made me a small paninied sandwich made with cheesebread. I was hooked. The cheesebread panini slider is unlike any sandwich you’ve ever had; a savory cross between a popover and a dumpling stuffed with everything from meats to cheeses, pesto to vegetables, composed salads to peanut butter, anything really, and then pressed in a countertop grill.
We serve cheesebread panini sliders accompanied by home made soups, salads, and gourmet desserts. We hope you love eating them as much as we love making them.
