Pycoin

From Bitcoin Wiki

Pycoin was an early Python 3 Bitcoin client and partial Bitcoin protocol implementation. It was a library that implemented parts of the Bitcoin network protocol.

History

The project was announced on 3 March 2011 in a BitcoinTalk thread titled "Announcing Pycoin, a (partial) bitcoin protocol implementation in python3".[1] The archived page linked to a Gitorious project page.[2]

Name collision

This historical Pycoin page should not be confused without verification with later Python projects using the same or similar name. For example, the currently maintained richardkiss/pycoin project describes itself as a Python-based Bitcoin and alt-coin utility library, not as the 2011 Gitorious-hosted client described by this article.[3]
