LakeBTC was a bitcoin exchange that began in 2013. It later operated under Lake Investments Limited (BVI), with technical support described as coming from Shanghai Trading IT, Inc. The platform listed USD and CNY markets among others.
CoinDesk added LakeBTC to its Bitcoin Price Index in June 2014; the same index later suspended LakeBTC data after repeated ticker errors in October 2014.[1][2] Independent trackers marked the exchange offline after the historical website became unreachable around July 2021.[3] Any later use of the historical domain does not restore the original exchange operator.
