Independent Reserve is an APAC cryptocurrency exchange founded in 2013 and historically associated with Sydney, Australia. On 2 February 2026 it announced that IG Group Holdings plc had completed its acquisition of Independent Reserve after Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) approval. The deal had been announced on 19 September 2025.[1] IG stated it expects to launch crypto propositions for customers in Singapore, Australia and the UAE powered by Independent Reserve in the second half of 2026. Adrian Przelozny continues to be described as CEO and co-founder in that announcement.[1]
History
Independent Reserve launched in 2013 as an Australian exchange focused on regulated, institutional-friendly trading. Over the 2010s–2020s it expanded APAC institutional and corporate offerings while remaining under Australian corporate registration.[1]
