Crypto Facilities (often styled Cryptofacilities on older wiki titles) was a London crypto derivatives venue and index provider. On 4 February 2019, Kraken announced it had acquired Crypto Facilities in a nine-figure deal. The venue continued under the Kraken Futures brand.[1]
History
Founded in 2015 and headquartered in London, Crypto Facilities offered regulated cryptocurrency futures and related products. Kraken's acquisition press release describes the firm as an early regulated venue to list futures on bitcoin and several other crypto-assets, and as calculator and administrator of the CME CF Bitcoin Reference Rate used by CME bitcoin futures.[1]

Regulation note
The 2019 Kraken press release states that Crypto Facilities Ltd was authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and quotes FRN 757895. That number is retained only as a historical claim from the acquisition PR. It should be re-checked on the live FCA register before anyone treats it as a current registration fact.[1]
Acquisition and successor
After 4 February 2019, Crypto Facilities remained London-based under Kraken ownership per the PR, with products offered to eligible Kraken clients as futures. See Kraken for the continuing futures business. This title is the historical independent brand.
