Coinomi
Coinomi is a multi-asset cryptocurrency wallet available on mobile and desktop platforms. The company About page states that Coinomi launched in 2014. The wallet supports numerous coins and tokens, SegWit-related account types on supported chains, and integrations with third-party exchange partners inside the application.[1]
2019 security dispute
In 2019 Decrypt reported a user claim that Coinomi’s desktop spell-checker had sent recovery (seed) words as plain text to a third-party service and that funds were later taken. Coinomi acknowledged a security vulnerability related to that spell-check behaviour but disputed the user’s loss narrative and characterised aspects of the dispute as blackmail. Sophos and other security writers covered the spell-check concern contemporaneously. The competing accounts remain disputed characterisations.[2]
English Court of Appeal proceedings
On 12 December 2023 the England and Wales Court of Appeal (Civil Division) handed down Ntzegkoutanis v Kimionis & Ors [2023] EWCA Civ 1480. The appeal concerned unfair-prejudice petition procedure under the Companies Act 2006 involving Giannis Ntzegkoutanis, Georgios Kimionis, and Coinomi corporate respondents. The judgment addresses when company-favour relief may be pursued in such a petition. It is a procedural appellate decision on unfair-prejudice petition practice, not a final merits judgment resolving the underlying shareholder claims.[3]
