ChromaWay is a Stockholm blockchain company founded in 2014 by Henrik Hjelte, Alex Mizrahi and Or Perelman. Its site brands the firm as "Pioneers of Blockchain. Since 2014" and as creators of the Chromia network.[1]
Colored coins and EPOBC
Early public work centred on colored coins on Bitcoin. The earlier wiki article described ChromaWay's EPOBC protocol implementation for issuing and transferring assets on the Bitcoin blockchain, with open-source wallets and libraries.[2]
The company timeline on chromaway.com names pre-founding colored-coin discussion (2012–2013), the 2014 founding, a 2015 stablecoin project with LHV Bank, and later land-registry and public-sector pilots.[1]
Postchain and Chromia
ChromaWay's relational-blockchain work is described on the Chromia about page: Postchain from 2016, with the public Chromia mainnet in July 2024.[3] Chromia is presented as a layer-1 network that runs a relational database under consensus rules.
