Bitstamp is a long-running cryptocurrency exchange founded in 2011. On 2 June 2025, Robinhood Markets, Inc. announced it had closed its acquisition of Bitstamp Ltd. The brand is presented as Bitstamp by Robinhood.[1] Bitstamp operates under multiple licensed entities depending on customer residency (EU, UK, US and Asia entities are listed on Bitstamp’s own legal footer).
