Bitcoin Wiki:Editing privileges

On the Bitcoin Wiki, new users' edits are held for review by moderators. New users are also subject to additional rules.
Rules
Carefully read and follow these rules:
- If your first edits are you adding an external link or creating a page for some service, you're probably going to be banned. Do not even add an external link to your own user page. If you think that an external link would really be helpful, suggest it on the page's talk page.
- No self-promotion, and avoid listing sites or services which make their own income (e.g. exchanges, marketplaces, hardware wallet manufacturers, etc). You can talk about the idea of certain products (e.g. hardware wallets exist and are useful in XYZ circumstances), but not list specific brands.
- Generally, the Bitcoin Wiki is a space for Bitcoin, not altcoins.
- Articles here will likely be edited by other people. Try not to take it personally.
- Do not engage in edit wars: use the talk page to find consensus.
What if my edits are not being approved?
After you make your edits, they are automatically added to a queue, and a Permittor should approve or reject them within a few days. Give it some time. Do not complain until at least five days have passed.
If your edits are rejected, first consider that you might have broken the above rules. If not, here are some ways to get in contact with us:
- Post on the wiki board on bitcointalk.org.
- Join IRC Web #bitcoin-wiki on Freenode - there is also a IRC Web #bitcoin-wiki channel on Libera if you prefer that network.
- Contact a Permittor. Go to their talk page, and click the "new topic" link at the top. If even your edits to talk pages are being rejected, one of our Permittors is also willing to be contacted via email.
