BitBargain
BitBargain was a marketplace for bitcoin sales in the United Kingdom. It matched buyers with sellers for GBP trades. The product page named bank transfers, Pingit and Ukash as example payment methods.
A Wayback capture of the homepage dated 26 December 2020 still showed a live buy flow.[1]
How offers worked
Sellers created offers. An offer named bitcoin as the item, a payment method such as a bank transfer, Pingit or Ukash, and limits such as a minimum, a maximum, a price formula and a trust setting.
The buying flow did not open a direct chat between buyer and seller. The buyer made a request. The seller had a short time to accept it. The marketplace page put that window at 100 seconds. After an accept, the buyer received the details needed to pay. After the seller marked the payment as received, the coins were released into the buyer's BitBargain wallet, from which they could be sent to a bitcoin address.
The interface used countdowns, sound alerts and SMS notices to keep that short window usable. Screenshots of the confirm and payment screens were uploaded with the original article.
