BTCX is a Swedish bitcoin exchange and brokerage service operated by Goobit Group AB (publ). The service was announced on 29 January 2012 as a Stockholm venue for trading between bitcoin and Swedish kronor, at that time pricing off Mt. Gox plus a fee.[1] Goobit’s public materials present BTCX as a bitcoin exchange operating since 2011.[2]

Goobit Group AB (publ) is listed on NGM Growth Market under the ticker BTCX. The group’s organisation number is 556952-8671. Goobit states that it is registered with Finansinspektionen, the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority. Wholly owned subsidiaries named on the MiCA press page include Goobit AB and Goobit Blocktech AB. The group is headquartered in Gamla Stan, Stockholm.[3][2]
Products
Goobit’s website describes BTCX products including Express, Standard Exchange, and OTC Service for buying, selling, and holding bitcoin. A separate savings product branded Futureproof is described as under development for long-term allocation across bitcoin, gold, and interest-bearing assets, with user approval required before portfolio changes. The group also markets an AML Desk for transaction-risk assessment and compliance support.[2]
Goobit’s homepage and press materials also publish cumulative customer and volume figures.
MiCA application
On 29 September 2025 Goobit Group AB announced that it had submitted an application for authorisation as a crypto-asset service provider under the EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) to Finansinspektionen, and that the application was under review. The company stated it would inform the market once Finansinspektionen decides on the application. The application was under review and was not an approval.[3]
