BRD was a mobile cryptocurrency wallet that began as breadwallet in 2014 and later rebranded to BRD (also styled Bread). Co-founders included Aaron Voisine and Adam Traidman. The product started as a bitcoin wallet and later added support for additional assets and buy, sell, and swap features through exchange partners.[1]
Coinbase acqui-hire
On 24 November 2021 Coinbase acqui-hired the BRD team into Coinbase Wallet. Terms were not disclosed. Co-founders said existing BRD wallets would keep working and that a migration path to Coinbase Wallet would be optional. The company claimed more than 10 million users.[1]
