Avalon is the bitcoin mining hardware brand of Canaan Inc. (NASDAQ: CAN), historically associated with early Avalon ASIC miners and the “Avalon Project.” Canaan Creative / Canaan Inc. is the corporate parent; the consumer-facing miner line continues under Avalon branding on canaan.io.[1]
History
Avalon ASICs were among the early commercial bitcoin miners (circa 2012–2013 Bitcointalk-era “Avalon Project”). The business consolidated under Canaan, which later listed on Nasdaq as Canaan Inc. (ticker CAN) in 2019. Canaan publishes periodic mining-operation and production updates for its self-mining fleet and Avalon hardware sales; treat IR/PR numbers as company statements.[2]
