Airbitz was a San Diego–based mobile bitcoin wallet and merchant-directory product for Android and iOS. It hosted community Libbitcoin Server nodes, published open-source clients based on Libbitcoin, and contributed employee work to libbitcoin libraries.
Rebrand to Edge
On 28 October 2017 the company announced that Airbitz was rebranding to Edge, highlighting client-side Edge Security branding, and introduced Edge Wallet as a major overhaul of the Airbitz wallet. The announcement highlighted a modular architecture intended to secure and transact across blockchains and tokens, conversion between supported digital assets, and SegWit support for bitcoin and litecoin in that release line.[1][2]
