Wladimir J. van der Laan is the current maintainer of Bitcoin Core.

On April 7, 2014, Gavin Andresen stepped down from the position of Core maintainer and nominated Laan as his successor.[1]

On January 21st, 2021, Wlad announced that he would be delegating his tasks.[2]

Wladimir gradualy stepped down in the following 2 years. On February 2023 Wladimir removed his own merge privileges. [3]
