Denarium physical bitcoins, also called Denarium bitcoin coins, are physical bitcoin coin wallets created by a Finnish Bitcoin company Prasos (Prasos Ltd, Jyväskylä, Finland) that contain an embedded piece of paper with digital Bitcoin value, covered by a tamper-resistant hologram. Denarium bitcoin wallets are available in different BTC increments. They can be purchased at Denarium's website, https://www.denarium.com (multiple payment methods accepted: Bitcoin, Visa, Mastercard, IBAN/SEPA bank transfer).
We initially designed the coins such that they could be circulated in face-to-face transactions. We have noticed however that Denarium bitcoin wallets are used primarily to save bitcoin. They are a helpful tool to save bitcoin, by making multiple transactions to the coin. Denarium also provides an option to buy bitcoins in the same order as the coins. When you buy bitcoin with the coin they will be automatically loaded on the coin for you. This makes it easy for first-time investors in bitcoin.
The piece of durable paper inside each coin has a private key which forms the backing for the Bitcoin value represented by the coin. The private key is in 30-character mini private key format. Redeeming the private key back into digital Bitcoins is currently available with a patched reference client as well as with many alternative clients such as Mycelium.
Whenever you redeem the private key you receive the bitcoin value of the coin, and afterward, the coin no longer has any Bitcoin value. It is difficult or impossible to read the private key on the coin without damaging or destroying the hologram, which exposes a honeycomb-like tamper-evidence pattern when peeled.
Denarium bitcoin coins are similar to any form of cold bitcoin storage and are similar to Bitbills and Casascius physical bitcoins in that they are an object that contains a redemption code that serves as a bearer item for digital bitcoins. They are unique physical bitcoin wallets, made of different materials and are the first to provide a multisig option for physical bitcoins.
