Pingit is an e-commerce business from Barclays allowing payments and money transfers to be made by those in the UK through the use of mobile phones.

A Pingit account is used to receive money from another Pingit customer. If the recipient also banks at Barclays, the funds can be spent using Pingit or immediately spent using the customer's Barclays bank account. If the recipient is not a Barclays customer, then funds are forwarded to a the UK bank account that the Pingit customer has linked.

The recipient isn't required to use a mobile app and may administer the account using the service's web interface.

Fees

There are no fees for sending or receiving using Pingit.

History
