A '''partially signed bitcoin transaction''' is a [[transaction]] representation that contains the information necessary for signers to produce signatures for said transaction; it is capable of holding signatures for an [[Transaction#Input | input]] while the input does not have a complete set of signatures. The format (standardized by [https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0174.mediawiki BIP 174]) can be used between [[clients]], allowing participants to pass around their transaction for signing (and ultimately to combine the associated signatures).
