Pastecoin (pastecoin.com) was announced on December 14, 2010[1]. The site was created by Amir Taaki who originally described it as, "just a weekend project."[2] On December 18, 2010 it was purchased at auction by Jeff Garzik for 345 BTC (~$86.00)[3]. The site was inactive by July 27, 2011[4].

PasteCoin (using the same pastecoin.com domain) was announced on December 14, 2010. IT was described as a new market allowing, "professional coders, programmers and hobbyists to buy and sell code snippets in exchange for Bitcoin."[5]
