Harmony is a large-scale open-source blockchain project for payments, data and media transactions. Thanks to its vertical integration and innovations on all stages of network operation, Harmony is set to support all transactions that can be generated by over 10 billion connected people.
Harmony is developed by people who took part in important projects such as Apple Siri, Google Maps, Amazon Web Services, NTT, and others, and have enormous expertise on large-scale high-load distributed computing infrastructure.
Harmony uses sharding and pipelining within a Byzantine Fault-Tolerant protocol for its consensus to maximize the transaction throughput. The block propagation network will be built using shards of thousands of voting nodes. The nodes that are allowed to verify transactions are selected by the bonds from network users, just as in any DPoS network.
