EtherZero is a fork of Ethereum, built as a faster and more capable platform for dApp developers, by dApp developers. EtherZero provides instant payments technology with up to 10,000 transactions per second, with zero fees.[1]

EtherZero team was established in 2017, and the first test network was released in Q1 2018.

EtherZero utilizes the Masternode Proof of Stake consensus algorithm. In comparison to simple PoS, there is a requirement for a minimal stake of 20,000 ETZ to become a masternode, capable of transaction verification.[2]
