Bitcoin 0.1.0 was the first public release of the Bitcoin client. Satoshi Nakamoto announced it on the Cryptography Mailing List on 8 January 2009 as Windows-only open-source C++ software.[1]
Hal Finney tested the software shortly after release and helped Satoshi debug early crash and networking problems.[2]
