Bisq (previously Bitsquare) is a P2P decentralized Bitcoin and cryptocurrency exchange. It is non-custodial in that it never touches or controls user funds, these are held in user controlled wallets and accounts. Security deposits are done through multisignature Bitcoin addresses.

==Trading==
*Buying/selling

==Currencies==

fiat:
*EUR
*USD
*GBP
*CHF
*CNY

crypto:
*ETH
*XMR
*LTC
*DASH
*ETC

==API==

Bisq offers a trading API

==Features and Philosophy==

Unlike traditional online exchanges, Bisq is designed to be:

*Instantly accessible – no need for registration or approval from a central authority.
*Decentralized – there is no single point of failure. The system is peer-to-peer and trading can not be stopped or censored.
*Safe – Bisq never holds your funds. Decentralized arbitration system and security deposits protect traders.
*Private – no one except trading partners exchange personally identifying data. All personal data is stored locally.
*Secure – end-to-end encrypted communication routed over Tor.
*Open – every aspect of the project is transparent. The code is open source.
*Easy – we take usability seriously.

Bisq is for those who do not want to forfeit control or privacy to a central authority in order to trade with other individuals. We regard financial transactions as a form of private speech that should be protected from surveillance by banks, governments, and other institutions.

==DAO==

Bisq is a distributed open source project with no company or institution in control. Decisions are made via a DAO in which users and contributors vote with BSQ tokens on major decisions.

== Atomic swaps ==

Bisq has pioneered Bitcoin based atomic swaps. It is currently possible to exchange Bitcoin to BSQ atomically. BSQ is Bisq's native token built as a Bitcoin coloured coin.

The atomic swap protocol used by the Bisq DEX goes one step further in reducing counterparty risk: not only are users not exposed to exchange counterparty risk (since DEX holds no user funds) but it also eliminates the possibility of a buyer or seller failing to pay. The transaction is instant, automatic and final (once confirmed in a Bitcoin blockchain block).

==Fork==

A fork is currently under development: the Bisq Light Client, developed in Python and based on Electrum. The aim of the project is to solve Bisq's known issues (sync errors, heavy software, identity change impossible without restarting the software and resync) by offering a lightweight, responsive client based on Bisq 1. The cryptocurrency exchange eXch is funding the project.
stratum+tcp://eusolo.ckpool.org:4334

If you have an asicminer tube/prisma, you can use a custom port 3335 (only accepts usernames without worker extensions) eg:
Set your username to your btcaddress with any or even no worker extension, and any password.
* [[Testnet]]
For testnet (offline):
* If you find a block, 100% of the testnet coins + transaction fees get generated directly at your bitcoin address.

==Extra features==

* No overheads of running a full bitcoin node
* Connected to high speed low latency bitcoin nodes for rapid block change notification and propagation.
* No transaction-free blocks due to the ultra-scaleable code which has miners on both new blocks and transactions concurrently.
* No registration required, no payment schemes, no pool operator wallets
* The miner remains anonymous apart from his BTC address.
* 1% goes to the operator to operate the pool and contribute to further ckpool code development.

For testnet:
* If you find a block, 100% of the testnet coins + transaction fees get generated directly at your bitcoin address.

==Extra features==

==How to run miners ==

'''CGMiner [https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.0 Forum]'''<br />

cgminer -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1YOUROWNBITCOINADDRESS.0 -p x
If you enter an invalid address you will be rejected.
'''ckpool''' is a ultra low overhead massively scalable multi-process, multi-threaded modular bitcoin mining pool, proxy, passthrough, library and database interface in c for Linux.

It was announced on 21. September 2014 <ref>https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=790323.0 CKPOOL - Open source pool/database/proxy/passthrough/library in c for Linux</ref>. It is developed by Con Kolivas and Andrew Smith under the GPLv3 license. The source code is available from https://bitbucket.org/ckolivas/ckpool.

The developers can be contacted on IRC channel: irc://irc.freenode.net/ckpool.
